One fireball, five looks
A style is a small piece of data the renderer applies: palette, outline, shading, font and screen effects. Same world, same Game Master, different game. Packs pick the style they want.
16-bit
The default look: SNES-era sprites, a full palette, a 1-pixel dark outline.
Style id snes16
8-bit
NES palette, flat colour, no shading, a few colours per sprite.
Style id nes8
90s arcade
Big chunky sprites with a thick outline, rim-lit three-tone shading, hot saturated colour and CRT scanlines.
Style id arcade90
90s arcade HD
Detailed fighting-game-era characters: tall, muscular, hand-shaded bodies with full costumes, drawn at four times the detail of the map.
Style id arcadeHD
Lamplight
The quiet mood as a style: a dim plum wash, lantern glow, fireflies, stars, soft bubbles and a rounded font.
Style id lamplight
Drawn live by the real renderer, nothing is a screenshot. 16-bit is the default and is unchanged. 90s arcade HD draws the heroes from the detailed Arcade HD roster. Side view and isometric looks come later.
